Interactive Tools
Our interactive tools help clinicians, educators, and leaders understand disruptive behavior in healthcare settings and act on that knowledge.
Some measure exposure, others focus on responses, and upcoming tools will explore who is involved, which working conditions increase risk, and how disruption can spread through networks.
We’ll be adding more tools over time, so check back regularly. Mobile-friendly versions are also in progress.

The University of Manitoba Exposure to disruptive behavior scale
Our exposure scale helps organizations measure how often clinicians encounter disruptive behaviour in the operating room, whether directed at themselves, patients, colleagues, or the wider team environment. It provides a structured way to quantify prevalence, identify vulnerable groups, and track changes over time.

University of Manitoba Responses to Disruptive intraoperative behavior scale
Our response scale measures how clinicians react to disruptive behaviour in the operating room. It identifies whether responses tend to be assertive, passive, manipulative, or malicious, and can be used to compare clinician's answers to percentile norms and place them into response-pattern classes. This helps organizations recognize common response styles, identify potentially harmful response patterns, and tailor support or training more effectively.
